Abstract
414,843. Filing papers. MANN, A., and COPELAND-CHATTERSON CO., Ltd., Cope-Chat Works, Dudbridge, near Stroud, Gloucester. April 24, 1933, No. 11948. [Class 146 (i).] In a visible index comprising a base board a to which a plurality of overlapping leaves b, Fig. 2, are hingedly secured to form pockets for documents x, the leaves b having their lower edges folded back at b <1> and secured to the base board by stitching or glue, means is provided for assembling the leaves comprising a hole or spaced holes b<2>, Fig. 10, in the folded back portions of the leaves and corresponding holes a<2> in the base board vertically spaced at distances corresponding to the desired overlap of the leaves. A lining f hides the stitching and a metal strip e serves to strengthen the base board. The device may be accommodated in a holder of metal or other material comprising a rectangular sheet flanged at three sides to engage the margin of the base board, or flanged at all four sides and cut away over portions of the flanges so that the base board may be introduced by flexing. During assembly of the device prongs b<1> attached to a member h are passed through the holes a<2>, b<2> and the leaves are then secured to the base board in correct spacing.
