Abstract

497,538. Visible-card indexes. GRIERSON, H. K. (Brangham, F. D.) April 20, 1938, No. 11881. [Class 146 (i)] In a visible-card index, each card is secured at its upper corners to a base 1 by means of a pair of loop members 3 projecting from the surface of the base 1. Tongues formed by slitting the side edges of the cards are inserted in the loops by bending the cards. Each series of loops may be formed from a single length of tape or fabric 3a which is secured to the underside of the base 1 with the loops passing through narrow slots 4 on the base. A narrow strip 6 of stiff paper or thin metal is secured to the inside surface of one of the walls of each pair of loops to space the loops and act as a support for the cards. The base 1 may be in the form of a cover.
