[Class 38 (i)] An adjustable lamp-holder comprises a base 11 with means 12 for mounting it and a semicylindrical or hemispherical top having an aperture 10 through which projects a lamp-holder support 8 attached to an enlargement 7 that fits within the top of the base 11. The lampholder 1 has a screw-thread 4 which serves for fixing the lamp-holder in the support 8 and for receiving a shade-holder ring 5. An external thread on the part 8 carries a nut 9 that serves to lock the support 8 in any position in relation to the base 11. In the case of a spherical surface allowing angular adjustment of the lamp-holder in all directions, internal and external spherical shells are associated with the support 8, the outer shell being pressed into contact with the base 11 by the nut 9 to lock the lamp-holder in position.
