Abstract

768,627. Lighting fittings. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. April 25, 1955, No. 11870/55. Class 75(4) The mounting of an electric lamp holder in the reflector housing of a lamp fitting comprises means, reversible in position so as to provide two fixed focus positions for different sizes. As shown a disc 2 having a central aperture 2b to receive the lamp holder 7 secured thereto as by sandwiching the disc between a flange on the cap 3a, 3b of the holder and a ring screwed on to the holder, also has a peripheral flange 2a disposed at right angles to the plane of the disc and provided with nuts 6 secured thereto receive screwthreaded supporting shanks 5a passed radially through the wall of the reflector housing 1. The disc is of smaller diameter than the surrounding position of the housing 1 so as to leave a ventilation space for the lamp between the flanges 2a and the housing walls. To prevent rotation of the holder 3a, 3b in the disc 2 a projection 2b is upset from this latter as to be received within a corresponding notch 3c formed in the flange of the holder. The reflector is provided with a flanged portion 1a by which the housing is attached to a ceiling 1b.
