491,282. Valves ; flow meters. DEGEA AKT.-GES. (AUERGES.). Nov. 1, 1937, No. 29844. Convention date, Nov. 25, 1936. [Classes 69 (i) and 135] A non-return valve for use on the air outlet conduit from gas-proof chambers in which air is maintained at a pressure above atmospheric has a conical valve member 7 with a flange 8 adapted to seat on a tubular member inserted in the conduit 2. The flange on the valve cooperates with scale 10 which can be viewed through a window 4 in the end of the conduit to indicate the excess pressure in and the flow from the chamber. Both inlet and outlet are fitted with screens 3, 6 and the inlet may be masked by a rotatable slide 11. The scale may be etched on the glass of the window. In a modification the valve member in place of being slidably mounted on a pin 9, is secured to a spindle attached to a dashpot piston. In this form the seat is arranged coaxially in the main conduit.
