Abstract

Crimped or staple-fibre yarns of organic derivative of cellulose or other thermoplastic substance are treated with hot air after completion of the crimping or stapling process, until the permanence of their voluminosity and resilience is increased. Hot air of at least 90 DEG C. is preferably employed for 15-30 mins. Materials treated include yarns of thermoplastic synthetic resins, e.g. polyvinyl acetate. The materials may be treated as yarn or after being made up into garments.
