490,923. Drag arrangements for spinning &c. machines ; automatic control systems. NICKEL, M. Nov. 18, 1936, No. 31633. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, May 20, 1937.] Drawings to Specification. [Class 120 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXV] Electric drag arrangements for spinning and twisting machines wherein the yarn is twisted and wound by the relative rotation of co-operating parts, such as a flyer and a spindle, bobbin or cop, are controlled so that the variation in the drag as the yarn is wound from the larger to the smaller diameter of the cop differs from the variation as the yarn is wound in the reverse direction. The control is combined with control in accordance with the tension of the yarn and with the speed of the flyer, as described in Specification 491,003. The apparatus is the same as that described in Specification 491,003, the additional regulation being effected by the regulator in the field of the generator supplying the drag.
