Abstract

A rubber or other vulcanizable composition for belting, shoe heels, tyres, or the like, comprises abrasive particles having a surface of a metal which adheres positively to rubber when vulcanized, e.g. brass. The particles may be homogeneous, or they may consist of iron, steel or carborundum plated with brass. The particles are preferably concentrated near the surface exposed to wear.
