Fixing; non-metazlic and composite shoes.-A horseshoe comprises a rubber composition wearing surface 1 of the usual open shape, and a rubber composition clip portion 2 formed integral with and adapted to retain the shoe in position solely by its clip action. For large shoes a rubber strip 4 may connect the heels. A steel spring 5 may be embedded in the wearing portion, Fig. 6, and reinforcing strips of canvas 7 may be provided in the clip 2, Fig. 5. The shoe is made of rubber and carborundum, to which may be added gutta percha and/or steel filings.
