Renewable treads.-In a horseshoe comprising a metal base A with an inside overhanging flange C in the acute angle of which is held a tread E of rubber or the like by means of a wire F passing through the length of the tread E with its ends secured to the heels of the shoe, the lower edge D of the overhanging flange is made perpendicular to the metal base A. The flange C may be curved. A layer J of canvas may be inserted between the rubber and the base and flange.
