Abstract

Composite shoes; renewable calks bar - shoes.- Upper and lower layers of rubber or the like 1, 2 are riveted to or moulded around a metal plate 3, the face of the layer 1 being formed with dovetailed recesses to receive calks 6 through which pass the fixing nails 7. A heel-bar 10 may be secured by the two heel-calks and may be fixed to a part of the plate 3 or of the heel-calks. One of the toe-calks is made broader than the others and is formed with a tapped hole 11 for a hardened frost-spike. The toe-calks are provided with upwardly projecting shoe-positioning arms 9. The front edge of the rubber layer 2 may be upturned to aid the toe-calks in positioning the shoe.
