Abstract

200,259. Hutchinson, R. April 27, 1922. Fibrous plastic compositions.-A composition suitable, for the manufacture of tyres, paving blocks, soles and heels of boots, &c. consists of rubber, wood-pulp, iron slag carborundum or emery, graphite, and sulphur, with or without china-clay or calcined bone. Suitable proportions are 25 parts of rubber, 25 parts of woodpulp, 20 parts of iron slag, carborundum or emery, 17¢ parts of china-clay or calcined bone, 17¢ parts of graphite, and 5 parts of sulphur.
