[Class 64 (i)] [Also in Group XVII] A combined glue - making and heating apparatus consists of a making vessel 8 and a number of smaller pots for heating, supported in apertures 10 in a cover-plate 9 of a water bath 1. The water bath is heated by having a steam chest 5 in its lower part ; or electric resistance heating elements may be used. To obtain the initial rise of temperature the steam is admitted to the chamber 5 through the valve 11, which is then closed and the steam necessary for maintaining the temperature is admitted through the byepass 14 and regulating tap 15 to leave at the outlet 16. A siphon pipe 20 connected to a supply tank 17 maintains a constant water level in the bath 1.
