Abstract

<PICT:0488046/III/1> Paint-spraying apparatus for producing a mottled effect comprises means by which a ground colour is sprayed from an atomizing nozzle and particles of a mottling colour are entrained by the spray and applied at the same time. The mottling attachment may be formed integrally with the sprayer or attached thereto. An apparatus forming an attachment to a known spray gun comprises a container 19 for the mottling liquid communicating with a valve 20 held above and just in front of an atomizing nozzle 21 by a clamp 22. The casing of the valve 20 is formed with a rearward bracket 24 to which a clamp 25 is attached by a bolt 26. The clip 25 has a hinge 27 at its rear end to form two arms which pass around the spray gun and under a shoulder 28 formed on its handle 2. The valve 20 is operated by an arm 33 having a rearward extension 35 acted on by a spring 37 and connected by a rod 39 through adjusting means 40, 41 to a link 42 attached by a clip 44 to the trigger 6 of the spray gun.
