Abstract

<PICT:0486229/III/1> In distilling, e.g. impure trichlorethylene from a dry-cleaning apparatus, the entrainment of froth by the vapours is prevented by the use of a non-textile wool filter between the evaporator and the condenser. The trichlorethylene heated by a steam coil 2 passes in vapour form through a removable filter 5 of steel wool or glass wool and is condensed by cooling pipes 3.
