Abstract
486,193. Two-part couplings. BOSCH AKT.-GES., R. Dec. 1, 1937, No. 33152. Convention date, Dec. 1, 1936. [Class 38 (i)] In an ignition system the common shielding conduit a and the leads h therein are connected by disconnectible couplings to the separate flexibly screened leads e so that the latter can be replaced independently. Each lead h is brought out to a button k located in a sleeve i of porcelain or steatite housed in a branch pipe g. The lead e is furnished with a button k and an insulating sleeve n, and the flexible screen s is secured by a flanged ferrule t to a cap m. When the cap is applied to the pipe g a spring ring p co-operates with an enlargement o on the pipe, the buttons k are pressed together with a spring q between them, and a packing ring r seals the coupling. An identical coupling cap is used at the other end of the lead e for connection to the sparking plug. Screw caps may be substituted for those shown.
