485,195. Clamping plates for riveting. MYERS, S. J. Oct. 16, 1936, No. 28114. [Class 83 (iv)] Plates are held together during riveting or the like operations by a tool comprising a pin b which has a recess at one side forming a shoulder b<4> near its free end and which slides freely in a holder a having a projection a<2> which fits against the side of the pin remote from the recess, the cross sectional dimensions of the projection and of the recessed part of the pin being together substantially equal to the dimensions of the free end of the pin, and the clamping pressure being produced by a nut c on the screw-threaded end of the pin b which bears against the end of the holder a. A set screw e prevents relative rotation between the pin and holder. A plate f closes the gap between the holder and the pin adjacent the plates d. Specification 452,358 is referred to.
