Abstract

553,770. Plate clamping. FAIREY AVIATION CO., Ltd., and GOULTON, C. A. March 13, 1942, No. 3340. [Class 44] A plate-clamping device for use in riveting &c. comprises a flat spring 25 bent to the shape shown in Fig. 5. The ends of the spring carry bushes 29, 38 and a button 35. The bush 29 has a semi-tubular projection 30 to engage the holes in the plates and a pin 33 is retained in the parts 35, 38 by flattening at 37, Fig. 6, on either side thereof to engage countersinks 36 and passes through a ball or cylinder 34 which also is prevented from removal by flattening the end of the wire. The spring may be stressed by pliers formed as shown in Registered Design 839,380.
