484,370. Lid fastenings. ELECTROLUX, Ltd. June 23, 1937, No. 17476. Convention date, June 25, 1936. [Class 44] [Also in Group XXVIII] The cover of a vacuum-cleaner casing, containing a dust separator, comprises a flanged plate 41 fitting into a flanged ring 30 which bounds the opening of the dust separator 35. The two parts are secured in correct position by flanges 69 on the plate enclosing box portions on the ring, and the plate carries latches 62 wedging against resilient plates in the boxes and thus pressing the parts together. The latches are actuated for engagement and disengagement by racks on a stirrup 51 which is moved longitudinally by a lever 49 pivoted on the plate 41, through a pin 55 engaging a projection on the stirrup. A spring 75 holds the lever in either extreme position.
