Abstract

484,124. Interconnected valves. MERCIER, J. Nov. 19, 1936, No. 31685. [Class 135] A slide-valve or distributing valve comprises a pair of pistons 2, 2<1> sliding in cylinders with ports 3, 4, 5, 3<1>, 4<1>, 5<1> communicating respectively with the inlet, distributing and outlet conduits, not shown. The pistons are adapted to be operated in opposite directions by a lever 15 pivoted at 17. Circular grooves or recesses 10, 10<1> are provided in the cylinder walls opposite the ports 3, 5, 3<1>, 5<1> so that the fluid pressure is equally distributed about the pistons and sticking is avoided. The invention may be applied to controlling the brakes of endless-track vehicles.
