482,944. Traffic signals on vehicles. WORISCHEK, K., and WORISCHEK, H. Sept. 11, 1936, No. 24817. Convention date, Sept. 11, 1936. [Class 118 (ii)] A slidable direction indicator for cycles comprises a tubular member containing a lamp and adapted to be pushed axially outwards by the thumb without releasing the grip on the handlebar. The indicator may be mounted in the end of the handle-bar itself or in an adjoining tube. As shown in Fig. 5 the lamp 27 is held in a tube 20 by the bayonet-fastening of a transparent cap 30 against the action of a spring 33 and the tube is normally drawn inwardly by a spring 34 secured to a fixed plug 19. The tube 20 is provided with a finger-piece 23 for actuation and when it is thrust outwardly the circuit of the lamp is completed at 38 by engagement of an enlargement of a rod 29 fixed to the holder with a live contact sleeve 37. As shown in Fig. 1 the indicator may be arranged in a separate casing 9 secured to the handle-bar 1 by a bracket 6.
