Abstract
434,154. Cycle pedals. RUDGE-WHITWORTH, Ltd., and WOOLLARD, F. G., Rudge Works, Crow Lane, Coventry. July 5, 1934, No. 19805. Addition to 338,563, [Class 136 (ii)]. [Class 136 (ii)] In the cycle pedal described in the parent Specification, the rubber block d mounted upon a central tube a is fitted with a metal end plate e provided with side arms f which extend along the front and rear edges of the block d, a cap i being screwed on to the outer end of the tube so as to retain the plate and side arms in position. The side arms f may fit into shallow recesses in the edges of the block d, and the free ends f<1> may be tucked in between the rubber and the adjacent bearing. The plate e may be extended to form guards g for preventing the rider's foot from slipping off the pedal. In a modification, the side arms f are made separately from the plate e in the form of rods, which are secured at one end to the plate e and lie in deep grooves in the block d.
