Abstract

460,672. Driving dynamos. WATSON, L. T. Sept. 18, 1935, No. 25860. [Class 35] A dynamo is mounted on the seat tube of a cycle above the wheel and is movable about a pivot, the axis of which is normal to the tube and lies in or parallel with the plane of the main frame of the cycle. In the form shown, the spring which urges the dynamo pinion g into engagement with the rear tyre is disposed about a sleeve l secured to the clip b which grips the seat tube c, one end of the spring being fixed to a flange l<1> on the sleeve and the other end to a bracket a<1> on which the dynamo a is adjustably mounted. The dynamo is held in the inoperative position by the engagement of a finger o carried by bracket a<1> with a recess in the flange l<1>. A slightly modified pivot is also described.
