[Class 41] [Also in Group XIII] In a refrigerating system in which water vapour from an evaporator 2 is absorbed by sulphuric acid in a chamber 4, the solution is concentrated by electrolysis in a vessel 10 effected by current induced in the'liquid by a transformer core 12. The liberated gases carry slugs of the liquid up to a separating chamber 19, whence the acid returns to the absorption vessel and the gases pass to a vessel 23 where they are recombined by ignition &c., the resultant liquid being returned to the evaporator.
