Abstract
136,364. Alitalo, K. E. Jan. 31, 1919. Extincteurs. - The acid receptacle 1 is situated near the bottom of the main container and is provided with openings at the top and bottom normally sealed by interconnected plugs 2 secured to a rod 4 supported by the bottom or other part of the container, so that when the receptacle 1 is depressed by means of a push-rod 9, the plugs are removed from the openings to allow the acid to mix with the soda solution. The receptacle 1 is secured to the push-rod 9 by a clamp 7 formed in two parts normally held together by a ring 11 and cross-pin 10. The pushrod 9 may be fixed to the discharge pipe, which then acts also as the operating-plunger. The plugs 2 and the corresponding openings in the receptacle 1 may be formed with interengaging flanges and grooves to form a water-tight connexion.
