Abstract

439,442. Refrigerating. HOOVER, Ltd., Perivale, Middlesex. - (Hoover Co.; North Canton, Ohio, U.S.A.) Nov. 5, 1934, No. 31756. [Class 29] Absorption machines and systems.-In a continuous - cycle system of the inert gas type, the vapour from the separation chamber D flows through the pipe D<2> and carries strong liquor from the absorber A up the pipe G<1> to an auxiliary separator G from which the vapour and the liquor pass through pipes G<2>, G<3> respectively into the rectifier F. The rectifier is provided with trays H<1>, Fig. 2, having flanged central openings over which are placed caps H<4> having serrated lower edges, and is connected by pipes B<2>, E3 with the generator B and the evaporator E respectively. The mixed refrigerant and absorbent vapour entering the rectifier through the pipe G<2> contacts directly with liquid refrigerant from the auxiliary condenser J, absorption liquor from the evaporator E, and strong liquor from the separator G. The generator B is provided with a riser pipe D<1>, discharging to the separator D, and a strong liquor return pipe B<2> arranged above the heating-tube B<1>. The circulation of inert gas between the absorber and the evaporator may be assisted by a vapour jet. Specification 439,443, is referred to.
