375,689. Refrigerating. TEVES MASCHINEN-UND ARMATUREN FABRIK GES., A., 23, Gustavsburgstrasse, Frankfort-on-Main, Germany. Nov. 25, 1931, No. 32714. Convention date, Feb. 25. [Class 29.] Evaporators.-In a flooded evaporator for a refrigerating machine the evaporator header b, which is fitted with a float operated inlet valve d, is provided with two pipe systems, one system g having its inlets h below the level of refrigerant in the header and its outlets l above, and the other i having both inlets and outlets k above. Ebullition in the system g, which always contains refrigerant, raises the level of refrigerant in the header causing it to flow into system i and be immediately evaporated. The volume of pipes g is not greater than the volume of header b. Baffles n are provided before the pipe outlets in the header to prevent the jets therefrom interfering with the action of the float valve.
