Abstract

481,262. Sifting-apparatus. TAYLOR, J., and TAYLOR, T. Aug. 12, 1937, No. 22147. [Class 117] A sieve is oscillated by a crank shaft or other mechanism connected to the feed end, the other end being suspended from a fixed axis, the arrangement being such that the screen is given an upward movement in the direction contrary to that of the material, the delivery end of the screen moving downwardly as the feed end rises. In the form shown, the discharge end of the screen 4 is suspended by links 12 from a fixed transverse shaft 13 and reciprocatory motion is imparted to the feed end by the crank-shaft 6 carried by bearings 7 on the fixed frame and driven anticlockwise. A second screen may be suspended on resilient straps from and beneath the main screen 4.
