Abstract

481,047. Two-part couplings. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., PIRANI, M., and SMITHELLS, C. J. March 12, 1937, No. 7313. [Class 38 (i)] The usual brass &c. screw cap 2 of a lamp is protected from contact with the fingers by covering the exposed part of the cap with a sleeve 8 of aluminium electrolytically oxidized on its outer or inner surface or both. The sleeve may be held in place by engagement with the upper part of the screw threads of the cap. The lead-in wire 6 may be brought out and soldered at the exposed edge 13 of the cap. The invention may be applied to the caps of discharge vessels.
