Abstract
479,676. Endless chain conveyers. BAGSHAWE & CO., Ltd., and BROOKS, E. G. Sept. 17, 1937, No. 25318. [Class 78 (i)] In an automatic discharge device, as set forth in Specification 457,682, for conveyers, the ratchet wheel, 3 is freely mounted on its shaft 2 and is connected by a pin 4 and arcuate slot 5 connection to a cam 6 fixed to the shaft. This connection permits lost motion between the wheel 3 and cam 4 through an amount equal to the pitch angle of the ratchet teeth, when the member 13 has been actuated by the pin 19 on the wheel 3, to tilt a tray, bucket, &c. at the preselected station, and a hump 20 on the cam lifts the pawl 15 on the ramp actuated lever 10 out of action, so that the lever 10 is rocked at subsequent stations without affecting the discharge device. The cam 6 carries a dial 16 provided with the numbers of the discharge stations the number of the selected station being visible through a window 17, when the device is reset.
