Abstract
Arylaminonaphthalene derivatives are obtained by reacting an amino- or an oxynaphthalene derivative (excepting a sulphonic or a carboxylic acid, or the 1.8-diamino-, dioxy-, or aminooxy derivative) with an aminooxy- or an aminoalkoxy-benzene or a nuclear substitution product thereof, in presence of a bisulphite and a neutral alkali sulphite (or an alkali which forms a sulphite with the bisulphite such as sodium carbonate). In examples: 4-amino-1-oxybenzene is reacted with (1) 1 (or 2)-oxynaphthalene, (2) 2.7-dioxynaphthalene, (3) 1 (or 2)-aminonaphthalene, (4) 4-amino-1-methoxybenzene is reacted with 1-oxynaphthalene.
