524,011. Sulphonamide derivatives. GREEN, A. G., and COPLANS, M. Oct. 25, 1938, No. 30771. [Class 2 (iii)] Ethyl-alpha-sulphonates of sulphanilamide are made by reacting sulphanilamide with an acetaldehyde bisulphite. In an example, the sodium salt of the formula NH 2 .SO 2 .C 6 H 4 . NH.C 2 H 4 :SO 3 Na is made by reacting sulphanilamide with acetaldehyde and sodium bisulphite. The products have therapeutic properties. Specifications 293,617, [Class 2 (iii)]. and 470,462 are referred to.
