Abstract

A symmetrical urea of the formula <FORM:0465886/IV/1> is prepared by treating 2-aminonaphthalene-3-carboxy-6 : 8-disulphonic acid with p-nitrobenzoyl chloride, reducing, again reacting with p-nitrobenzoyl chloride, again reducing, and finally treating with phosgene. The product, used in the form of its soluble sodium salt, possesses therapeutic properties. An example is given. Specification 20192/14, [Class 2 (iii)], is referred to.
