Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of formula <FORM:0837338/IV(c)/1> wherein R is a sulphonic acid radical, or an amide thereof. They are used in the treatment of leukaemia. They are prepared by coupling a diazobenzene containing a sulphonic acid or sulphonamide radical with 2 : 4 : 6-triaminopyrimidine. In an example p-diazobenzene sulphonic acid is coupled with 2 : 4 : 6-triaminopyrimidine in aqueous medium to give pale yellow crystals of (21 : 41 : 61 - triaminopyrimidinyl - 51 - azo) - benzene - 4 - sulphonic acid; (21 : 41 : 61 - triaminopyrimidinyl - 51-azo) - benzene - 2 - sulphonic acid and - 4-sulphonamide are also prepared.
