Abstract

479,010. Centrifugal separators. TRIGGS, W. W. (Machinefabriek Reineveld, N. V.) Aug. 27, 1937, No. 23504. [Class 23] Solids are discharged from the drum 6 of a centrifugal separator by means of a number of toothed discs 12 revolubly mounted on a shaft 11 supported by arms 8a, 8b from the casing 8 of a screw conveyer 9. The teeth of the discs are in the form of radial fingers 13 of U-shaped cross-section. The casing 8 can be oscillated in the bearing 7 to swing the discs 12 into and out of engagement with the solids. When the solids are disintegrated they are thrown by the discs 12 through a slot in the casing 8 to the conveyer 9 by which they are removed.
