Abstract

477,766. Ironing-machines. YOUNG, R. June 5, 1936, No. 15717. [Classes 42 (i) and 138 (ii)] In a multi-roller Decondun type of ironing- machine the rollers 10 are driven in unison by means of a coupling bar 27 which is connected by pins 26 and slots 25 eccentrically to discs 24 at the ends of the rollers. The coupling bar is also connected by eccentric pins 28 to driving discs 29 which are driven together by worms 30 on a power shaft 31. The bearings of the rollers are resiliently mounted and the bed is raised into pressure engagement with the rollers by a system of rams 38, Fig. 3, positioned therebeneath. Each chest comprises a complete concavity and a complete crest, the meeting faces 15a being horizontal. An endless apron 16 passes between the rollers and the chests and back around pulleys 17, 18, 19.
