475,997. Steam plant. RUTHSACCUMULATOR AKTIEBOLAGET. Jan. 15, 1937, No. 1297. Convention date, Jan. 21, 1936. [Class 110 (iii)] Steam passing through both stages 1, 2, Fig. 1, of a turbine which drives a generator 12, is supplied to steam users 7. When more is required by the steam users than the stage 2 of the turbine can pass, the remainder is supplied through a reducing valve 13 from the exhaust of stage 1. When the requirements of the steam users are less than the steam necessary to maintain a minimum output of the generator 12, an output regulator 11 opens a valve 10 and more steam taken by the turbine stage 1 is passed to an accumulator 9. The accumulator 9 is associated with a low-pressure boiler 5 and a high-pressure accumulator 8 is placed between the steam lines 3, 4. In the plant shown in Fig. 4, an extraction stage 21 of a condensing turbine supplies steam to a line 23. When the steam users require less steam than is necessary for the minimum load on the generator 26, a valve 25 is opened and cold water entering the accumulator 24 enables the latter to absorb the excess steam in the line 23.
