Abstract

475,197. Washing machines. PROSPERITY CO., Inc. June 5, 1936, No. 15789. Convention date, Aug. 6, 1935. [Class 138 (ii)] The rotary clothes-receptacle 2 of a washing- machine is provided at each end with a header 5, 6 having perforations 20, 21 through which jets of liquid are projected axially through the receptacle. The perforations are perferably arranged in a ring in each end plate, the diameter of the ring in one plate being greater than that of the ring in the other plate whereby two cylindrical curtains of jets are formed. The headers are connected by pipes 14 arranged longitudinally in the lifters 18 and the ends of the receptacle are connected by tie-bolts 22. The receptacle may be supported at one end only and the supply 7 enters the header 5 through the hollow trunnion 3. A loading and unloading aperture 4 closed by a door is provided at the other end, the ring 21 of perforations being arranged concentrically around the aperture.
