Abstract

349,893. Washing-machines. TULLIS, D. K., Kilbowie Iron Works, Clydebank. Oct. 31, 1930, No. 32743. [Class 138 (ii).] A rotary washing-machine is provided with hollow trunnions 2, 3 of which the trunnion 2 serves as a liquid inlet. A lifter 7 is arranged in front of the other trunnion and, on the rotation of the machine, directs the foul liquid therethrough to a drain 8. The lifter may be rendered inoperative by closing a valve 9 in the drain pipe which is provided with an inspection window 11 and a vent 12. A valve-controlled byepass 10 may be provided between the inlet and the drain so that floating matter may escape from the machine.
