Abstract

474,919. Snap-action switches. CRABTREE & CO., Ltd., J. A. (Schiele & Bruchsaler- Industriewerke Akt.-Ges.) May 13, 1936, No. 13496. [Class 38 (v)] A snap-action switch comprises a leaf spring 1 of the form shown in Fig. 6 clamped by central ears 1a, 1b between insulating members 2a, 2b formed with V-shaped channels 7a, 7b to allow for movement of the arms of the leaf spring 1. A tension spring 5 is connected between the ends of a central aperture in the spring 1 and causes contacts 3a, 3b to snap between fixed contacts 4a, 4b and stops 6a, 6b when the members 2a, 2b are moved up and down, either by a diaphragm 2c acting against control springs 12, 13 or by manual means.
