Abstract
474,624. Seat frames. COOPER, W. J. May 11, 1936, No. 13219. [Class 52 (ii)] In a chair or settee frame comprising separate side-frames, seat frame and back frame adapted to be secured together by bolts &c., the side-frames are of box or cratelike form each consisting of two vertical frames 14, 15, Fig. 2, spaced apart and connected by members 21, 22, 23. The back and seat frames have laterally extending studs or bolts adapted to enter holes 16, 33, 45, 48 in the sideframes. The frames may be of steel of angle, channel or other section, and tacking strips of wood may be secured thereto or therein for the attachment of upholstery, each frame being separately upholstered before assembly to form the chair. The seat comprises a frame 25, Fig. 5, of angle section members, with interlaced laths 34 to support the spring upholstery, and upstanding members 29, 30, 31 carrying studs for attachment to the box-like side-frames of the chair. The back comprises a frame 38, Fig. 6, secured to a sub-frame 41 which is attached to the sideframes by studs 44.
