473,754. Cartridges. FEDERAL LABORATORIES. Feb. 19, 1936, No. 5069. Convention date, Dec. 11, 1935. [Class 9 (i)] A propellent cartridge specially intended for discharging a projectile 10 of the kind described in Specifications 473,805 and 473,819, comprises a tubular body 50, containing a detonator 52, a propellent charge 54, and a wad device leaving an axial passage between the propellent charge and the projectile. The wad device comprises a cardboard disc 56 formed with an axial hole sealed with cellulose tape 60, an axially perforated felt disc 62, and an axially perforated metal washer 66, which serves to transmit the propelling thrust to the projectile.
