473,125. Oil - gas generation. WALSHAM, H. F. March 2, 1936, No. 6252. Convention date, Dec. 2, 1935. [Class 55 (ii)] Apparatus for gasefving tar, crude oil &c. comprises a producer 3, a gasefication retort or retorts 1 externally heated by the producer gases and having a tar &c. inlet pipe 8 with an atomizer 9 and surrounding steam pipe 12, together with ar inlet 20 for a regulat able amount of pro ducer gases for uniting with the gas generated in the retort. The temperature within the retort is maintained at 900-1000‹ C. by passage of the producer gases and combustion products over staggered baffles 6 in heating chambers 2 to which combustion air is admitted through an inlet not shown.
