472,485. Electron multipliers. BAIRD TELEVISION, Ltd., and LANCE, T. M. C. March 23, 1936, No. 8574. [Class 39 (i)] The angle between the incident stream and a secondaryelectron - emitting surface is of the order of 30‹, i.e. between 25 and 35‹. As shown, light incident on a photo-electric mesh or translucent screen causes the emission of electrons which are accelerated to a secondaryemitting electrode 3 comprising a louvre of inclined strips. Succeeding electrodes 4, 5, 6 have the strips arranged in alternating fashion. The individual strips of one louvre should be separated by a distance equal to the axial thickness of the louvre. Adjacent electrodes may be arranged with their strips in perpendicular directions.
