Abstract
472,278. Electrodeposition of metals. ADEY, R. H. March 20, 1936, No. 8394. [Class 41] A pad electrode is made to fit the bore of a hollow body to be plated and is provided with a reservoir for electrolyte. The apparatus shown in Fig. 1 comprises a reservoir 1 from which electrolyte may pass to a conduit 10 by lifting a button 9 operating a valve 6. The conduit, which may be flexible, is secured to a core 11 in which is mounted the anode 12, which is of the metal to be deposited, and an absorbent pad 13 to which the electrolyte passes by passages 17. In the apparatus shown in Fig. 2, the pad 22 and anode 20 are mounted on a hollow cylindrical reservoir 21 containing absorbent matter such as rubber sponge saturated with electrolyte. By rotation of a screw 27 by an external wheel 31 a piston 28 may be raised to force electrolyte through passages 37 to the pad.
