Abstract

471,884. Safety razors. WAKEFORD, A. J. April 7, 1936, No. 10775/35. [Class 30] Shaving-cream is extruded upon the skin by self-contained motive means during shaving. A rod G<1> connected to a stud G or to a movable end cap is pushed down against the action of a spring L and thereby releases a spring- actuated toothed wheel D in mesh with a rack E carrying a piston F. The latter thereupon rises and forces cream from a chamber A through an orifice C below the edge of the blade. The rod G<1> may be replaced by a stud projecting from the side of the handle and which when pressed releases the wheel D. Instead of being housed in the handle as shown, the device may take the form of a separate attachment partly enclosing the handle and adapted to discharge close to the cutting edge.
