Abstract
471,606. Walls ; floors. SEALOCRETE PRODUCTS, Ltd., and LEE, H. L. March 27,1936, No. 9153. [Class 20 (iv)] A method of building a concrete or like structure by casting contiguous courses or sections in succession includes the insertion, as a tongue at the interface of two adjacent courses or sections, ot a corrugated sheet-metal strip 12 which is coated with a bituminous or bitumastic composition and is arranged to project substantially at right angles to the interface into each course or section and to extend lengthwise along the interface to form a seal. The tongue 12 shown in Fig. 1 is used as a seal for two superposed courses 10, 11 of a wall and is in the form of a corrugated galvanised-iron strip. The strip may be provided with the corrugations extending either transversely or longitudinally of its length. The tongues 12 shown in Fig. 3 serve as seals between the adjacent sections 10, 11 of a concrete floor. At the junction between contiguous courses of a concrete flooring and an adjacent concrete wall, a corrugated strip 12 of L-shape is provided as shown in Fig. 6. The strip, which may be of iron or zinc, may have the bituminous coating applied in two or more layers ; for example, it may be coated first with a bituminous paint and then with a bituminous cement composition.
