Slabs; flooring-slabs.-The edges of floor or wall slabs are bevelled and rabbeted as shown in Fig. 1 to correspond with the sides of the supporting-beams and leave grouting spaces. The sides of the slabs where they abut each other are bevelled and rabbeted in a similar manner as shown in Fig. 2.
