Abstract
470,412. Tubular link chains. RAITT, D. L. Feb. 14, 1936, No. 4513. [Class 24] Chains for electric-light fittings &c. comprise tubular members 1, Fig. 2, connected by links passing through diametrically opposed holes in the ends of the members 1. The links may be in the form of closed wire loops 2, or may be formed of pieces of wire 5, 5<1>, Fig. 4, passed through holes in the members 1, and upset at their ends 6, 6<1>. In another form, rings may be passed through the holes, and interlinked by closed rings. Fig. 7 shows one of the methods of assembling the parts. Slits 10 are made from the ends of the members up to the holes. The slits are opened as at I and the connecting links inserted and the slits closed. The connecting links may be disposed in one plane or alternately in planes at right-angles, and the tubular members may be of square, hexagonal, oval or circular cross-section, and may all be of the same cross-section, or of different cross-sections at different parts of the chain.
