Abstract

470,114. Trucks with suspended load. BALLAMY, L. M. March 11, 1936, No. 7370. [Class 108 (i)] A trailer is provided with a rectangular or U-shaped frame mounted on wheels and with arch-shaped members having pulleys or the like for raising a load and placing it on the frame, the load being supported by displaceable cross-members positioned on the frame and acting in the same plane as the frame. The trailer comprises two side members 10 connected at the front by a transverse member 14 and by arched members 17 .. 19, the end ones of which carry pulleys 20 over which pass cables 22 secured to cradles 21 adapted to encircle an inverted boat. Additional transverse members 23 are pivoted to one of the side members and are adapted to be secured to the other side member 10 by pins 24 when the load is in the elevated position. The wheels 12 are carried by stub axles supported by pivoted arms 10a under control of elliptic springs 11. The arched members 17 .. 19 may be connected by a central longitudinal bar at their topmost point. A pivoted stay 25 is provided.
